Start Accessing Usenet Newsgroups with Eweka
New to Eweka? This guide will walk you through the first steps so you can start accessing articles from Eweka's secure, high-performance Usenet network.
Step 1: Sign Up for Eweka
To begin, create an account at https://www.eweka.nl/en/checkout. Once you’ve completed your registration and selected a plan, you’ll have access to all the tools needed to connect to Eweka’s Usenet network.
Step 2: Install the Newslazer Newsreader
Eweka includes access to the Newslazer newsreader, which is already configured to work with your Eweka account. This simplifies the setup process and eliminates the need to manually input server information.
To install Newslazer:
-
Go to the Newslazer website and go to the download section.
-
Locate the Newslazer download link for your operating system.
-
Launch the installer and follow the steps to complete installation.
Step 3: Log In to Newslazer
Once Newslazer is installed, open the application. You will be prompted to enter your Eweka username and password. These credentials are the same ones used to access your Eweka account dashboard.
Step 4: Start Exploring Usenet
Newslazer works directly with the Eweka network and includes powerful search features. Use the built-in Usenet search function to explore articles across thousands of active newsgroups. Eweka provides high article retention and fast access across all supported groups.
Step 5: Customize Your Experience
Newslazer includes settings for SSL encryption, server connection limits, and more. These options allow you to fine-tune your access speed and security preferences. Since the app is preconfigured for Eweka, you don’t need to adjust server hostnames or ports unless instructed by support.
