Repair Issues in Newslazer: How to Clear a Stuck Queue
Newslazer processes articles one at a time, and repair actions are handled in the background using a tool called Par2. In some cases, if Par2 stops responding, Newslazer will appear to freeze while attempting to complete a repair. As a result, all remaining queued articles will be stuck in a waiting state.
To resolve this, follow these steps:
Open Your Operating System's Task Manager
Use the appropriate method for your device (e.g., Ctrl+Shift+Esc on Windows or Activity Monitor on macOS).
Locate and Kill the Par2 Process
Find the process labeled par2
or similar and force it to close. This stops the stalled repair operation.
Return to Newslazer
The article that was being repaired will be marked as failed. The queue will automatically begin processing the next available item.
Manual Repair (Optional)
If desired, manually verify and extract the affected article using a third-party Par2 and extraction tool outside of Newslazer.
This issue can occur intermittently based on the article's structure or the performance of background utilities. Once resolved, Newslazer will continue accessing articles without further interruption.
If the issue continues, consider submitting a support request through the Eweka support portal.
