How to Configure Extra Usenet Servers in Newslazer
Newslazer allows Eweka users to add alternate NNTP servers to supplement their primary connection. This can help optimize access to Usenet articles and improve completion rates when using multiple servers with different article retention policies.
Follow the steps below to add an NNTP server in Newslazer:
-
Launch Newslazer.
-
Open the Options menu.
-
Select Settings.
-
Click the Add Button to add a new server.
-
Enter the following information for your backup server:
-
Server Name: Name of your additional Usenet provider.
-
Port Number: Port number of the server.
-
UNENCRYPTED: 119
-
SSL: 563
-
-
SSL/TLS Encryption: Check the box if you plan to use the SSL port. We recommend that you use SSL encryption to protect your Usenet activity if it's available with your provider.
-
Username and Password: Input your login information.
-
-
Set the number of connections.
-
Click Save.
Once added, Newslazer will attempt to use the servers in order of priority. You can rearrange them by highlighting a server and clicking either the Move up or Move down button.
