Accessing Usenet with NZBGet on Chromebook

Eweka users on Chromebook can take advantage of NZBGet’s performance and automation features. This setup runs via Linux (Beta) and supports full SSL connections for privacy.

Activate Linux Support

  1. Open Settings > Developers.

  2. Enable Linux (Beta).

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to install.

Install NZBGet Using Terminal

  1. Open the Linux Terminal.

  2. Update and install with:

    sudo apt update
    sudo apt install nzbget

Run NZBGet

  • Start the NZBGet daemon:

    nzbget -D
  • Go to the Web interface at http://localhost:6789

Set Up NZBGet for Eweka

  1. In Settings > News-Servers, enter your Eweka server info.

  2. Use Port 563 and enable SSL.

  3. Set the username, password, and number of connections.

  4. Save changes and restart the service.

Add your favorite Usenet Indexer to NZBGet or integrate with apps for hands-off automation.
