Conducting Speed Tests with NZBGet Safely

Rather than relying on NZBs from Indexers, NZBGet provides a safer and more accurate test method. This method uses a temporary server entry and data cap to evaluate performance with Eweka.

Speed Testing Steps

  1. Configure a Base Server:
In Settings > NEWS-SERVERS, set up a verified Eweka server entry that connects successfully.

  2. Duplicate and Rename for Testing:
Clone the server and name it something like "Eweka SpeedTest".

  3. Limit Transfer Amount:
In the new entry, set Optional to yes and define X.Limit to a small size (e.g., 100 MB).

  4. Prioritize the Test Server:
Assign Level 0 and disable other servers temporarily.

  5. Restart NZBGet:
NZBGet will run the capped test automatically.

  6. Interpret Results:
Use observed throughput to assess connection quality and decide on port or IPv4/IPv6 changes.
