How to Configure Newsbin for Eweka Access

Start-Up Guide

Newsbin and Eweka work together to offer fast, secure access to Usenet articles. Here’s how to configure Newsbin for use with Eweka.

1. Open Newsbin

After installation, launch Newsbin and start the setup wizard.

2. Eweka Server Settings

Go to Options > Servers and click the New Server button. Input the following:

  • Server: Eweka

  • Address: news.eweka.nl

  • Connections: Up to 50

  • SSL: Enabled (port 563)

For more detailed setup instructions, look at the Eweka Newsbin Pro setup guide.

3. Account Login

Provide your Eweka credentials in the appropriate fields.

4. Specify Storage Location

Choose a directory for article storage. You can make this change at Options > Settings > Setup.

5. Final Adjustments

Fine-tune connection behavior and automation under Settings. Bandwidth limits can be configured at Options > Settings > Network.

NOTE: Eweka's article retention increases by one day daily, so we do not recommend using this restriction.
