Newsbin Setup for UsenetServer Access

Quick Start Instructions

Newsbin provides a strong desktop interface for accessing Usenet articles. Pairing it with UsenetServer adds high-speed and secure NNTP functionality.

Step 1: Start Newsbin

Launch the application after installation.

Step 2: Configure UsenetServer

Go to Options > Servers and click the New Server button.

Input the following details:

  • Server Name: UsenetServer

  • Address: news.usenetserver.com

  • SSL Port: 563

  • Connections: Up to 20

  • Username and Password fields: Input your UsenetServer username/password

Step 3: Define a Storage Directory

Point Newsbin to a local folder for saving accessed articles in Options > Settings > Setup.

Step 4: Adjust Settings

Confirm automation options and test your server connection. Bandwidth preferences can be changed at Options > Settings > Network.
