Server Configuration and Priority Control in Newsbin

Eweka works efficiently with Newsbin when configured properly. This walkthrough helps you add your Eweka server and prioritize it within the software.

Steps to Add Eweka in Newsbin

  1. Open Newsbin.

  2. Navigate to Options > Servers.

  1. Click New Server.

  1. Name the server (e.g., Eweka).

  1. Input the server address (e.g., news.eweka.nl), port (563 for SSL), and your login credentials.

  2. Enable SSL, and set the correct number of connections allowed by your plan.

  3. Press OK.

Set Priority for Eweka

  1. Back in the server list, adjust the priority number.

  1. Lower numbers are attempted first by Newsbin.

  2. Assign Eweka a higher priority if it is your main Usenet provider.
