Protecting Your SABnzbd Setup

When working with SABnzbd and Eweka, it's helpful to save your configuration so that you don’t have to re-enter everything after a system update or device change.

Step 1: Find the SABnzbd Data Folder

Check your operating system for the SABnzbd configuration location:

  • Windows: C:\Users\[Name]\AppData\Local\sabnzbd

  • macOS: /Users/[Name]/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd

  • Linux: ~/.sabnzbd

Step 2: Exit SABnzbd

Make sure SABnzbd is closed before proceeding to avoid saving partial data.

Step 3: Copy the Folder

Back up the complete SABnzbd data directory. This will retain:

  • Your Eweka server information

  • Queue status

  • Indexer and category rules

  • Settings tied to your preferred Usenet access flow

Step 4: Restore on a New System

  1. Install SABnzbd as usual

  2. Launch it once and then close it

  3. Paste your saved folder over the newly created config directory

  4. Relaunch SABnzbd and confirm your settings have loaded
