Troubleshooting SABnzbd Connection to Eweka Servers

1. Confirm Server Settings

Double-check your server configuration in SABnzbd to make sure it matches the correct settings for Eweka:

  • Server Address: news.eweka.nl

  • Port: 119 (unencrypted) or 563 (SSL)

  • SSL: Enabled if using port 563

  • Authentication: Enabled

  • Username/Password: Use your Eweka credentials

Any discrepancy in these settings could result in the connection failure.

2. Network Configuration

Some devices or network setups may block communication between SABnzbd and Eweka servers.

  • Restart your modem/router and computer to reset network settings.

  • If a VPN or proxy is active, disable it temporarily to see if it’s interfering.

  • Avoid using a loopback IP address (such as 127.0.0.1) unless SABnzbd is running on a local server configured to use it.

3. Firewall or Antivirus Blocking

Security software may block the connection based on port use or application behavior.

  • Check your firewall settings to verify that SABnzbd is allowed to use ports 119 or 563.

  • Review your antivirus software’s logs or protection settings for any blocked outbound traffic.

4. Still Need Help?

If the error continues after checking the settings above, please contact Eweka Support with the following details:

  • The email address linked to your Eweka account

  • Your SABnzbd version number

  • Any recent changes to your system or network setup

  • Full error message as shown in SABnzbd

Providing this information will allow us to investigate and assist more quickly.
